Dongxuan Lingbao Zhongqing Weiyi Jing (The Scripture of the Ritual Etiquette of Bells and Chimes of the Numinous Treasure of the Cavernous Mystery), the author of which is unknown.
Judging from its content and wording, it should be a Taoist scripture from the Southern and Northern Dynasties or the Sui and Tang dynasties.

It is included in the Rituals category of the Cavernous Mystery section of the Daozang (Taoist Canon).
The scripture is pseudonymously attributed to the Supreme Lord of the Dao delivering the teachings, claiming that bells and chimes can be struck during all Taoist fasting and sacrificial assemblies. The making and striking of bells and chimes must comply with religious rules and rituals. For example, one should tidy the ritual robe before striking a bell, recite prayers and hymns, strike three times when gathering the congregation, and strike three hundred and sixty times when a Taoist priest passes away, and so on.
At the end of the text, thirteen gathas on striking bells and chimes at the twelve hours of the day and at all times, as expounded by the True Person of Wisdom and Virtue, are appended.
