Dongxuan Lingbao Zhutian Shijie Zaohua Jing (Scripture of the Creation of the Heavenly Worlds of the Numinous Treasure of the Cavernous Mystery), the author of which is unknown.
Judging from its content and wording, it is likely to have been composed by Taoist priests during the Southern and Northern Dynasties or the Sui and Tang dynasties.

It consists of one scroll and is included in the Text category of the Cavernous Mystery section of the Daozang (Taoist Canon).
The scripture is divided into seven sections, outlining the operation cycles of heaven, earth, sun, and moon, as well as events of kalpa cycles and calamities. It states that in the universe, there are four thousand heavens, four thousand suns and moons, four thousand Kunlun Mountains, and tens of millions of great seas, divine mountains, and great hells.
All these together form a small kalpa world; one thousand small kalpa worlds form a middle kalpa world; and one thousand middle kalpa worlds form a great kalpa world. A great kalpa world decays and then regenerates, with creation and transformation ceaseless, much like the cycle of sentient beings dying and being reborn. Sentient beings, burdened with heavy karmic sins, will ultimately fall into hell to endure suffering. Therefore, the Heavenly Worthy tells the various sages of heaven to "propagate the Taoist teaching and deliver all living beings", so that all monarchs, emperors, and all subjects in all realms of heaven, earth, and the dharma realm may attain enlightenment, escape suffering, obtain boundless joy after death, and enjoy immeasurable longevity in life.
Those who can achieve this may become teachers of gods and humans.
