The Supreme Scripture of the Green Tooth's Primordial Birth of Dongzhen
It is one of the early classics of the Shangqing School, probably compiled during the Southern and Northern Dynasties.
Volume 47 of The Supreme Secret Essentials has already quoted this scripture. It is a one-volume work and included in the "Zhengyi Section" of the Taoist Canon.
The scripture falsely claims to record the transmission of teachings from the Queen Mother of the West (Xi Wangmu) to Gu Xizi, the Real Person Huang Tong (Youthful True Person) of Mr. Tai Gu. It mainly discusses the technique of swallowing the "Five Teeth" — the Five Teeth refer to the Green Tooth of the East, the Vermilion Tooth of the South, the Yellow Tooth of the Center, the White Tooth of the West, and the Black Tooth of the North, which represent the primordial vital energy (Qi) born in the five directions.
These Five Teeth are respectively matched with the Five Heavens, Five Planets, Five Elements, Five Great Mountains, and Five Viscera.
It is claimed that if a Taoist practitioner receives this scripture through a ritual oath and swallows the Five Teeth in accordance with the method, "within no more than five years, they will attain the status of an immortal sage".
This kind of Taoist method is also seen in The Scripture of the Five Talismans of Lingbao.
