The Du Zhixi 杜志希
Paul PengShare
Du Zhixi (1244-1298) was a native of Dongchang in the early Yuan Dynasty.
As recorded in The Epitaph of Master Du: "His ancestors were from an official family. He learned the Dan Yang (Alchemy of Yang) technique from Master Zhang of Changchun Wanshou Palace (Palace of Eternal Spring and Longevity).

Seeing that Du Zhixi had lofty aspirations and ideals, Master Zhang then appointed him to the position of Tidian (manager in charge of affairs) of the palace itself. The Taoist Master in charge of religious affairs bestowed upon him a purple robe with a golden border in accordance with regulations, and he took charge of the palace's administrative affairs. He passed away due to illness in the second year of the Dade reign period, at the age of fifty-four."
