Etiquette and Ceremonies Category

It is the seventh category among the Twelve Categories in the classification system of Taoist scriptures.

Taoist Doctrine Essentials·Meaning of the Twelve Parts records that "Wei" (majesty) refers to dignity and awe-inspiring demeanor, and "Yi" (etiquette) denotes appropriate norms and rules, as well as adapting to things to form majestic regulations. Thus, it states: "Etiquette and ceremonies refer to things like the rituals of fasts, the norms of scriptures, and the procedures for requesting scriptures."

Works in this category are mostly those on fasting methods, repentance rituals, and Taoist religious ceremony systems.
