The Fang Congyi 方从义

Fang Congyi was a native of Guixi (now part of Jiangxi Province) in the early Ming Dynasty.

His courtesy name was Wuyu, and his art name was Fanghu.

Zhang Yuchu praised him as "Huxian" (Immortal of the Vase).

He became a monk at Huncheng Courtyard on Longhu Mountain, studied under Jin Pengtou, and formed a literary society with Zhang Mengxun and Lu Boliang.

He was skilled in poetry and prose, and excelled at ancient clerical script and Zhangcao (a cursive script style). His paintings, in particular, stood unrivaled in his time. When inspired, he would readily give his works to others regardless of their identity; otherwise, he would not easily gift even a single stroke. Hence, few of his works have survived. Paul Peng is a Zhengyi Taoist priest from Longhu Mountain, Jiangxi — the ancestral home of the Celestial Masters' tradition. Ordained at 25 after a dream from the Celestial Master, he has practiced for 25 years under Master Zeng Guangliang. He is one of the curators of this store, which is officially authorized by Tianshi Fu. All items are consecrated at the temple by the resident priest team.
