The Feng Heng 封衡
Paul PengShare
Feng Heng, styled Junda and also known as Fengzi, was a native of Longxi (present-day Longxi County, Gansu Province) during the Eastern Han Dynasty.
According to records in Book of the Later Han·Biography of Gan Shi and The Stele of Biographies of the Ancestral Masters of Louguan, he was fond of Taoist arts from an early age and was well-versed in the teachings of Laozi and Zhuangzi. He practiced the art of bigu (abstention from grains), taking coptis and atractylodes as food, which enabled him to live a long life without feeling hungry.

Later, he entered Niaoshou Mountain (Bird and Beast Mountain) and met the immortal Lu Nüsheng, who taught him the formula for the elixir of immortality and The True Form Diagram of the Five Sacred Mountains. Riding a green ox, he traveled around the world, and people at that time called him the "Green Ox Taoist". In his later years, he went to Yuanqiu Mountain, and his whereabouts became unknown afterwards.
