The Feng You 冯佑

Feng You was a figure in the mid-Tang Dynasty.

He once served as the governor of Mianzhou; later, he abandoned his official post to become a Taoist and practiced Taoism at Zhangren Guan (Zhangren Taoist Temple) on Qingcheng Mountain. He was famous for his skills in Taoist talismans, incantations, and lu (Taoist registers of immortals or rituals). According to Volume 188 of Daofa Huiyuan (Compendium of Taoist Methods), the Holy Mother of Beiyin taught Feng You the Taiyi Thunder Method. This method proved efficacious in controlling both floods and droughts.

Those who received his Taoist teachings included Li Juchuan, Jiang Yuanheng, Lü Zhengqing, and others.
