The Five Falsifications Treatise of Yuanyangzi

Also known as The Invisibility Method of the True Person Yuanyangzi of Changbai Mountain, it was probably compiled in the Tang Dynasty.

Consisting of one volume, it is included in the Methods Category of The Dongshen Section of The Daozang.

The Five Falsifications Treatise of Yuanyangzi

This book elaborates on the method of invisibility through incantation recitation, recording five incantations corresponding to the Metal Falsification, Wood Falsification, Water Falsification, Fire Falsification and Earth Falsification, which are rooted in the doctrines of the Five Elements. It claims that one who burns incense, observes fasts, and recites each incantation with a pure heart for forty-nine consecutive days can avert all calamities and perils: when misfortune befalls, recite the relevant incantation quickly, seize an object and throw it to flee, and the disaster will be immediately dispelled. Practicing these methods enables one to be unharmed by swords and blades without shedding blood, hide in wood to escape calamities, walk on water without drowning, step into fire without being burned, and conceal oneself in the earth or pass through walls, remaining unseen by all.
