The Fu Tongxu 傅同虚
Paul PengFu Tongxu was a Taoist priest of Chongyuan Courtyard at Longhu Mountain in Jiangxi Province during the early Ming Dynasty.
His courtesy name was Xutang and his literary name was Ruolin. He was famous for his Taoist magic arts.
In the early years of the Hongwu reign, he was appointed as Geshen Lang (a Taoist official title), Director of the Five Tones, Left Zhengyi Immortal Official. He was in charge of the affairs of Shenle Guan (a Taoist institution) and the ceremonies of Heaven and Earth Altars.
He followed the imperial edict of the Hongwu Emperor (the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty) to compile and finalize The Established Rituals for Taoist Fasts and Offerings of the Great Ming Dynasty together with Deng Zhongxiu and others.
After his death, the Hongwu Emperor granted him a state-funded funeral and memorial ceremony.
