The Gao Zhiqing 高志清
Paul PengShare
Gao Zhiqing was a native of Luoyang (now part of Henan Province) in the early Yuan Dynasty.
He began studying Taoism from childhood and received teachings from Wang Changling, a respected senior at Qingxu Palace.

He resided in Tanhuai (an ancient place name, roughly covering present-day Qinyang, Henan Province), where he established Taoist temples to initiate people into Taoism. He extended kindness to all living beings and never slackened in his efforts. Later, he was promoted to the position of Tidian of Medicine (supervisor of medical affairs in Taoism). Using both medicine and ritual water (a traditional Taoist practice for healing), he treated and saved common people—those coming to him for treatment crowded the steps and filled the doorways, keeping him busy from morning till night with no time to spare.
Villagers and locals held him in high esteem, and his reputation in the Taoist community grew day by day.
