Gaoxuan School
The Gaoxuan School traces its origins to Ge Xuan and mainly focuses on practicing Laozi's Tao Te Ching. It reveres Laozi and the Supreme Perfect Man Yin Xi. Meanwhile, it also studies scriptures such as Xiang'er Zhu (Annotations by Xiang'er), Laozi Neijie (Inner Explanations of Laozi), and Laozi Jiejie (Sectional Explanations of Laozi).
Those who obtain the position of Dharma master are awarded the "Gaoxuan School Dao De Zixu Da Lu" (a type of important Taoist register). This school has its own specific scriptures, precepts, and inheritance rituals. After the Tang Dynasty, it merged into the Shangqing Daoist methods.
