The Ge Chaofu 葛巢甫
Paul PengShare
Ge Chaofu
A figure of the Eastern Jin Dynasty.
He was the great-grandnephew of Ge Hong (a renowned Taoist thinker and alchemist). In the late Eastern Jin Dynasty, he once claimed to convey messages through fujing (a Chinese divination practice where a "medium" channels spirits to write responses), and compiled a large number of Lingbao Taoist scriptures under this pretense. The doctrines and teachings of these scriptures then spread widely and exerted significant influence.

Later, he passed down these scriptures and teachings to Taoist practitioners such as Ren Yanqing and Xu Lingqi, leading to the widespread proliferation of Lingbao texts.
