Ge Yuetan (1854—1934) was a native of Qiu County, Shandong Province in the late Qing Dynasty.

His Taoist titles were Ningjingzi, with alternative pseudonyms Zhenliu Daozhe (Daoist Who Pillows on Streams) and Zhengeng Daoren (Daoist Zhenggeng).

He became a Taoist priest in the tenth year of the Tongzhi reign (1871).

In the thirteenth year of the Tongzhi reign, he received the Heavenly Immortal Grand Precepts from Master Zhang, the 19th-generation patriarch of the Longmen School.

From the first year of the Guangxu reign (1875) onwards, he resided at Baiyun Guan (White Cloud Temple) in Beijing and served as the Reception Manager. In the thirtieth year of the Guangxu reign (1904), he took office as the Supervisor of Taiqing Palace in Shenyang, where he founded a national school and established CUITong School specializing in religious culture.

In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), he assumed the position of Abbot of Taiqing Palace, held precept-transmission ceremonies, and initiated over 300 disciples.

In 1921, he held another precept-transmission ceremony and initiated more than 400 disciples.
