The Golden Register Longevity Invocatory Rite

The Golden Register Longevity Invocatory Rite 金箓斋延寿设醮仪

Paul Peng

The Golden Register Longevity Invocatory Rite FULL NAME IS

Ritual of Conducting Sacrificial Ceremony for Longevity in the Golden Register Fasting

The compiler remains anonymous.
Judging from its content and literary style, this text was also compiled by Taoist priests of the Ming Dynasty.

It is included in the Ritual Norms Section of the Cavern Mystery Division of The Daozang.

The ritual recorded herein was also performed to hold a sacrificial ceremony and pray for longevity on the emperor’s birthday, which includes the three offering rituals: the First Offering, the Second Offering and the Final Offering.

Nevertheless, the ritual proceedings and literary texts in this work are more elaborate and verbose than those in Ritual of the Three Offerings for Praying for Longevity in the Golden Register Fasting, with a greater number of divine beings invoked in the memorial addresses to the heaven.
