Gong Chong, also known as Gong Song, was a native of Langya (present-day Linyi, Shandong Province) during the Eastern Han Dynasty.
He once studied under Gan Ji and received The Taiping Scripture.

Volume 20 of Lishi Zhenxian Tidao Tongjian (Comprehensive Mirror of the True Immortals Throughout History Who Embodied the Dao) records that during the reign of Emperor Shun (r. 125-144), Gong Chong went to the imperial court to present the book, but the relevant officials reported that the book contained many absurd and heterogeneous remarks, so it was not accepted.
He once took mica, which made his complexion look as youthful as a boy's. Later, he entered Kuangyu Mountain, attained the Dao, and became an immortal, departing from the mortal world.
