The Gong Yuanzheng 龚元正
Paul PengShare
Gong Yuanzheng, styled Duanben, was a native of Wuling during the reign of Emperor Huizong in the Northern Song Dynasty.
Though his family was poor, he was eager to learn and often carried Confucian classics with him even when he worked in the fields. Later, he became a Taoist priest.

He founded a Taoist temple, which was bestowed the plaque name "Wanshou Palace" (Palace of Longevity) by the imperial court; he himself was granted the title "Master Chongyi". He served as the abbot of this temple for forty years and achieved remarkable fame for his Taoist attainments.
Gong Yuanzheng passed away during the Xuanhe era of Emperor Huizong of the Northern Song Dynasty (1119–1125 AD).
