Consisting of one scroll, it is included in the Precepts Category of the Dongshen Section (Divine Grotto Section) of the Daozang.

This text describes the sacrificial ritual of worshipping the Supreme Old Lord and praying for his manifestation and the exercise of divine powers. It is claimed that performing this ritual can sever karmic affinities, transcend delusion, and return to a state of purity and tranquility.

The entire text is divided into three parts. First is the "Offering of Birthday Felicitations", which includes rituals such as reciting the Spiritual Protection Incantation, declaring ritual titles and positions, inviting the sacred, and welcoming the descent of the sacred. Second is the "Text of Rites for Manifestation", which eulogizes the stories of the Supreme Old Lord descending into the mortal world to serve as a teacher to emperors and Taoists, manifesting his spiritual powers to enlighten and educate all beings; its content is similar to The Records of the Primordial Unity Sage by Xie Shoubin.

The final part is the "Ritual of Offering Sacrifices for Manifestation", which contains rituals such as reciting the Spiritual Protection Incantation, declaring Dharma positions, chanting scriptures, and sending off the sacred.
