Gu Yangkun was a native of Gusu (now Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province) during the Qianlong and Jiaqing reigns of the Qing Dynasty. His courtesy name was Cangzhou, and his art name was also Cangzhou.

He studied under the patriarch Chu Rendao (styled Rongyang). Endowed with a wide range of knowledge and a remarkable memory, he had profound insights into Taoist learning, attracting a large number of disciples.

He resided on Tongbai Mountain, and there was never a day without visitors coming to seek the true path and consult him on Taoist practice.

Ordained at 25 after a dream from the Celestial Master, he has practiced for 25 years under Master Zeng Guangliang. He is one of the curators of this store, which is officially authorized by Tianshi Fu. All items are consecrated at the temple by the resident priest team.
