The Guo Changbin 郭长彬

Guo Changbin was a native of Pinghu in the early Qing Dynasty, and his courtesy name was Qusheng.

According to Gazetteer of Jiaxing Prefecture, when Changbin was 13 years old, he became a Taoist Priest under Xu Zixiu. When he grew up, he received Taoist teachings and rituals from Shi Liangsheng at Qionglong Mountain.

He traveled to famous Taoist mountains such as Juqu (Mount Juqu) and Longhu (Mount Longhu), visited elderly and senior Taoist practitioners, and mastered the Five Thunder Taoist Method. After returning, he resided at Songchen Taoist Abbey, and the Taoist rituals he performed were often efficacious.

In his later years, he went to Baiyun Guan (White Cloud Temple) in the capital, where his reputation grew significantly. Later, he passed away without illness. Prince Yu personally came to pay his respects, and a niche was made to bury him.

His disciple Sun Chuangang brought his remains back to Pinghu.
