The Guo Zhikong 郭志空

Guo Zhikong was a native of Zhangqiu (now part of Shandong Province) during the Jin Dynasty.

His courtesy name was Chaoran, and his Taoist title was "Zhenren Changchun" (the Immortal of Eternal Spring).

He retreated to the mountains to practice Taoism, where he encountered an extraordinary person (a hermit or Taoist with profound attainments) who secretly taught him esoteric Taoist methods. He was capable of sitting for long periods without lying down and was skilled in the techniques of "fuqi yunqi" (a Taoist practice of absorbing and circulating vital energy).

His fame reached the imperial court, so he was summoned to the capital by imperial edict and awarded a golden crown and brocade robes.
