Originally attributed to "Wang Shouzheng, the Carefree Scholar of Wufeng", it was presumably written by a Quanzhen Taoist priest of the Yuan Dynasty.
Consisting of twenty volumes, the Daozang (Daoist Canon) version is missing Volumes 1 and 2, and it is included in the Yujue (Jade Commentary) category of the Dongshen Section.
The Hand-Copied Exegesis of Dao De Jing
According to research, Yanyi (Expanded Exegesis) was written by Wang Shouzheng, while Shouchao (Handwritten Copy) was completed by his later followers. This work is a study of the Laozi and Zhuangzi by Quanzhen Taoists of the Yuan Dynasty, and can serve as reference material for the study of Taoist intellectual history.
