He Deshun lived during the Yuanfeng era of the Northern Song Dynasty. He was awarded the title "Master of Venerating Dao" and granted the Purple Gold Fish Bag (a symbol of official honor in ancient China). He served as the abbot of Tianqing Temple in Guangzhou.
