The He Deyi 何得一

The He Deyi 何得一

Paul Peng
He Deyi was a figure at the end of the Northern Song Dynasty. He became a Taoist priest and studied under Zheng Huaji, practicing Taoism at Xiangfu Temple in Xingan County.
During the Xuanhe era (1119–1124 AD), he was summoned to the capital by imperial edict. His responses to the emperor’s questions fully met the imperial will, so he was appointed to take charge of Longde Taiyi Palace. He was also bestowed the title "Master Chongmiao," appointed to the position of Danlin Lang, and later promoted to Youjie Jianyi (an official post in the Taoist administrative system).
