The He Juchuan 何巨川
Paul PengShare
He Juchuan was a native of Lin'an (now part of Zhejiang Province) during the Jin and Yuan dynasties, and his courtesy name was Kongshan.
He studied under Li Zhenchang (a prominent Taoist master) and served as a Taoist monk at Changchun Palace in the imperial capital.

When Kublai Khan, the Yuan Shizu (Emperor Shizu of the Yuan Dynasty), was about to conquer the Southern Song Dynasty, He Juchuan submitted a memorial to the imperial court to voice his opposition.
Later, he was sent on a diplomatic mission to the Jiangnan region (the southern part of the Yangtze River basin, a core territory of the Southern Song Dynasty) alongside Hao Wenzhong, the Hanlin Academician and Imperial Envoy. He passed away in Zhenzhou (an ancient city in present-day Jiangsu Province) during this mission.
During the Zhizheng era (1341-1370) of the Yuan Dynasty, an imperial edict was issued to posthumously confer on him the official rank of the second grade.
His works include Xubai An Poetry Collection (literally "Poems from the Void and Purity Hut").
Details of his life story can be found in Chuo Geng Lu (Records of Interrupted Plowing, a Yuan-dynasty miscellany) and Yishan Ji (The Yishan Collection, a literary anthology by the Jin-Yuan scholar Yuan Haowen).
