The Hong Rizhong 洪日中
Paul PengShare
Hong Rizhong was a native of She County, Anhui (now part of Anhui Province) during the Ming Dynasty, and he styled himself "Handou".
As recorded in She County Gazetteer (She Xian Zhi), he became a Daoist Priest from an early age and was officially registered as a member of Lv Village Temple (Lv Cun Guan).

Later, he went to Longhu Mountain (the sacred ancestral mountain of Zhengyi Daoism) and studied under the Celestial Master Zhang (Zhang Tianshi). There, he received the authentic transmission of the "Five Qi and Three Passes" doctrine—a core practice in Daoist cultivation. He was capable of performing quiet meditation to pray, summoning celestial generals and forming ritual banners; his efforts to expel evil spirits and cure illnesses were all immediately effective.
Subsequently, he was appointed to an official position in the Mansion of the Great True Person (Da Zhenren Fu) and was bestowed the title "True Person Who Subdues Demons, Spreads the Teachings, and Promotes Transformation" ("Fumo Chan Jiao Honghua Zhenren").
