The Hu Yinyao 胡隐遥
Paul PengShare
Hu Yinyao was a Taoist priest of Dongting Mountain during the transition between the Sui and Tang dynasties (now part of Jiangsu Province). He claimed to be the grandson of Mr. Yongli. Residing on Jiao Mountain, he practiced the "Method of Refining the Body through Taiyin" (a Taoist ascetic technique associated with the lunar, yin energy).
Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty summoned him and showed him extraordinary courtesy and favor.

During the Zhenguan era of Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty (627–649 CE), Hu Yinyao was summoned to the inner palace. The emperor consulted him on the way to nourish life (Taoist practices for health and longevity). Later, Hu Yinyao requested to return to the mountain, and his final whereabouts remain unknown.
