Huang Yizhen (1392-1472) was a native of Xiaguanbao, Neixiang (now part of Henan Province) during the Ming Dynasty.

His literary names were Yunfeng and Chengyizi. As recorded in Nanyang Fu Zhi (Records of Nanyang Prefecture), in his youth, he became a Taoist priest at Fengxian Temple in his hometown and traveled between the Wuduo Mountains in Zhenping. Later, he studied under Li Chongpu, a Quanzhen School Taoist master, and practiced Taoism in seclusion for more than ten years. No one could glimpse his esoteric techniques.
The Prince of Tang in Nanyang once appointed Huang Yizhen as a Taoist official, putting him in charge of the Northern Temple in Nanyang. After that, he traveled between Yuqing Palace and Yuxian Palace in Dagu Valley, and mostly resided at Fengxian Temple.

He passed away in the seventh year of the Chenghua reign (1471) at the age of 80.
