Huang Youdao was a native of Mianyang Prefecture (present-day Miancheng, Hubei Province) during the Jin and Yuan dynasties, and his courtesy name was Fanggong.

He studied Taoism under Liu Chuxuan as his teacher. Later, he met Ma Danyang, who imparted to him the secret teachings of the "Golden Elixir Fire Phases" (a core alchemical concept in Taoism). Huang Youdao then traveled and sojourned to famous mountains across the land, and in his later years, he retreated to seclusion in Zhongnan Mountain to dedicate himself to Taoist cultivation.

Paul Peng is a Zhengyi Taoist priest from Longhu Mountain, Jiangxi — the ancestral home of the Celestial Masters' tradition. Ordained at 25 after a dream from the Celestial Master, he has practiced for 25 years under Master Zeng Guangliang. He is one of the curators of this store, which is officially authorized by Tianshi Fu. All items are consecrated at the temple by the resident priest team.
