The Huang Ziming 黄自明

Paul Peng
Huang Ziming was a native of Linchuan in Fuzhou (now part of Jiangxi Province) during the late Song and early Yuan dynasties.

He had a calm and tranquil temperament, and was diligent and accomplished in his Taoist practice and conduct.

There were more than a dozen white fine hairs between each of his eyebrows, each as long as two cun (a traditional Chinese unit of length; 1 cun is approximately 3.33 centimeters). People at that time all regarded this as an unusual and remarkable trait.

In the 17th year of the Zhiyuan era of the Yuan Dynasty (1280), he was appointed as Tiandian (a senior Taoist administrative official) of his native Taoist temple.
