Huoshan School, a branch of the Longmen School of Quanzhen Taoism.
Its founder was Zhang Zongxuan. Records of All True Sects states: "The True Person Yunqiao was surnamed Zhang, named Zongxuan, with the courtesy name Gengyun. He was a native of Fushan County, Dengzhou, Shandong. In the autumn of the Jia Shen year of the Guangxu era (1884), he went to the White Cloud Temple again to pass on the Dharma. His disciples, due to the large number of followers, kowtowed and requested to take the character 'Zong' (meaning 'ancestor') as the first generation name." According to Annals of the White Cloud Temple, Zhang Zongxuan, also known as Yuanxuan, with the courtesy name Gengyun, was the 19th-generation master of the Longmen School. He passed away in the 13th year of the Guangxu era (1887).
He passed on the Dharma to Liu Suyun, the 20th-generation master of the Longmen School. Stele of Liu Suyun's Daoist Deeds says: Liu Suyun, with the Taoist name Chengyin, was a native of Dongguang, Hebei. He was fond of goodness since childhood and excelled in both Confucianism and Taoism. He studied under Zhang Gengyun, the 19th-generation abbot. In the 10th year of the Tongzhi era (1871), he donated over 5,000 taels of silver as the fee for his master's precept transmission ceremony, with more than 300 people receiving the precepts. Later, he also raised funds to carve scripture woodblocks and re-engrave the inscriptions in the temple. He succeeded as the 20th-generation master of the Longmen School and was also the second-generation inheritor of the Huoshan School. He died in the 20th year of the Guangxu era (1894). Records of All True Sects contains 40 generation characters of this school, such as "Zong, Cheng, Xin, Chong, Xu, Xiu, Shan, Fa, De, Chao, ..." However, there is no record of whom Liu Chengyin (Suyun) passed the Dharma to after his death.
