The Imperial Subcommentary Exegesis FULL NAME IS
Daode Zhenjing Shuyi (Exegetical Commentary on the Classic of the Dao and Virtue)
Composed by Jiang Zheng of the Song Dynasty.

The Imperial Subcommentary Exegesis
Consisting of fourteen volumes, it is included in the Yujue (Jade Commentary) category of the Dongshen Section of the Daozang (Daoist Canon). This work provides exegetical verification on Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty’s Imperial Commentary on the Classic of the Dao and Virtue, interpreting the text sentence by sentence and extensively citing works such as the Zhuangzi and the I Ching as supporting evidence. Its ideological purport does not go beyond the scope of Emperor Huizong’s commentary.
