It is included in the Ritual Norms Section of the Cavern Mystery Division of The Daozang.

The Ritual of Dissolving the Altar recorded in this text is one of the rites of the Jade Register Fasting, observed at the conclusion of the fasting ceremony when the ritual altar and seats are formally dismissed. This ritual was performed to invoke all divine spirits including the Three Pure Ones and the Jade Emperor, declaring that the Grand Jade Register Fasting held by imperial edict had been fully completed with all meritorious observances fulfilled, and to submit a memorial for merits and rewards in accordance with the orthodox Taoist regulations. Beyond the standard ritual proceedings, its core ceremonies mainly consist of the Three Invocations and Three Homages, proclaiming and burning merit-reporting memorials, proclaiming and burning talismans for recalling divine generals, dismissing divine officials, recalling divine officials to their celestial positions, proclaiming three bamboo tallies, casting the bamboo tallies, making ritual vows, and descending the altar to bid farewell to the Three Treasures.
