The Ji Changzai 季常在
Paul PengShare
Ji Changzai was a native of Binchuan County, Dali, Yunnan during the Ming Dynasty.
As recorded in Gazetteer of Dali Prefecture, he was a "Gongsheng" (a student who passed the imperial examination at the prefectural level and was qualified to enter the imperial academy) during the Jiajing reign period (1522-1566).

When he traveled around Jiaogu (Banana Valley), he met two immortals. The immortals taught him Taoist doctrines and enlightened him, after which he became a Taoist priest. He practiced the techniques of "tuna" (breathing exercises) and "fuqi" (absorbing vital energy), and achieved significant attainments in them.
