The Ji Zonglao 吉宗老
Paul PengShare
Ji Zonglao was a figure who lived during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty.
He was officially registered as a Taoist priest in Yuzhang (an ancient region covering parts of present-day Jiangxi Province).

He traveled across famous mountains, seeking out mentors to study Taoism.
In the second year of the Dazhong era (848 CE), he encountered a Taoist hermit in tattered clothes at a small village Taoist temple in Shuzhou. This hermit possessed extraordinary Taoist arts. Ji Zonglao wished to study under him, yet the hermit disappeared without a trace, and Ji never learned of his whereabouts afterward.
