The Jiang Leigu 蒋雷谷

Jiang Leigu was a native of Guixi, Jiangxi during the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties. His courtesy name was Tongshou. From childhood, he yearned to enter the Taoist school.

When he grew up, he went to Dongguan Courtyard, paid homage to Lian Taisu as his teacher, and fully received the transmission of esoteric Xuanjiao (Mysterious Teaching) methods. Later, he traveled to Sichuan and acquired the Palm Thunder Method.

In the early years of the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty (1368), he was officially appointed as the Director of Shenle Temple, and soon promoted to the Position of Supervisor of Five Tones. In the early years of the Yongle era (1403), he returned to Longhu Mountain. Among his disciples who received ordination were Yan Fuyuan and Wu Siyu.
