The Jie Yan 介琰
Paul PengShare
Jie Yan was a native of the state of Wu during the Three Kingdoms period.
It is said that he resided in Fangshan of Jian'an. He studied under Duke Baiyang (Du Mi) and received the teaching of the "Xuanyi Dao" (the Dao of Mysterious Unity). According to Volume 5 of Lishi Zhenxian Tidao Tongjian (Comprehensive Mirror of True Immortals Through the Ages Who Embodied the Dao), Sun Quan, the ruler of Wu, treated him with great courtesy and desired to learn the Daoist methods from him, but Jie Yan did not comply.

Sun Quan, in anger, wanted to kill him. However, Jie Yan was capable of invisibility and transformation, and his whereabouts became unknown thereafter.
