The Ke Daochong 柯道冲

The Ke Daochong 柯道冲

Paul Peng
Ke Daochong was a native of Jinling (now part of Jiangsu Province) during the Taiding period of the Yuan Dynasty (1324-1327). His Taoist sobriquet was "Yuanhei Daoren" (Taoist Priest of Profound Silence).

He was on good terms with Miao Shanshi. He wrote the preface for Xuanjiao Da Gong’an (The Great Case Records of the Mysterious Teaching), in which he expounded on the origin and development of the Taoist lineage of the Northern and Southern Schools. This preface serves as important material for studying the lineage of the Southern School’s Dharma transmission.
