Li Daoqian (1219-1296) was a native of Yishan (now Kaifeng, Henan Province) in the Yuan Dynasty.

His courtesy name was Hefu, his Taoist title was Tianle Daoren (Taoist of Heavenly Joy), and he was granted the honorary title of Xuanming Wenjing Tianle Zhenren (True Person of Profound Brightness, Literary Tranquility, and Heavenly Joy).

At the age of twenty-four, he studied under Yu Zhidao, a Taoist priest of the Quanzhen School, and fully inherited the profound doctrines of Quanzhen Taoism.

He resided in Chongyang Palace on Mount Zhongnan for more than fifty years, and successively held positions including Tidian Chongyang Gongshi (Administrator of Chongyang Palace), Jingzhao Daomen Tidian (Administrator of Taoist Temples in Jingzhao Prefecture), and Tidian Shaanxi Wulu Xishu Sichuan Daojiaoshi (Administrator of Taoist Affairs in the Five Routes of Shaanxi and Sichuan in Western Shu).

He was the author of several works, including Qizhen Nianpu (Chronological Biography of the Seven Perfect Ones), Ganshui Xianyuan Lu (Records of the Immortal Origins from Sweet Water), Zhongnan Shan Zuting Xianzhen Neichuan (Inner Biographies of Immortal Sages at the Ancestral Courtyard on Mount Zhongnan), Yunxi Ji (Collected Works of Bamboo Stream), and Zhongnan Shan Ji (Records of Mount Zhongnan).
