The Li He 李和
Paul PengShare
Li He (375–457) was a native of Qinzhong during the Jin Dynasty (266–420/420–479).
His courtesy name was Shunfu, and he was also known by the Taoist titles "True Person in Hemp Robes" (Maiyi Zhenren) and "Li He the Hemp-Robed Master" (Maiyizi Li He).

According to records in Nanyang Fu Zhi (Gazetteer of Nanyang Prefecture): At the age of 28, he left secular life to become a Taoist monk. He entered Mount Zhongnan, where he met a virtuous hermit who taught him the secret techniques of refining elixirs (a core Taoist alchemical practice). Thereafter, he resided in Lingtang Cave in Nanyang to pursue Taoist cultivation for 19 years.
His mastery of Taoist arts was exquisite, and his practices were said to yield remarkable spiritual efficacies.
He passed away in his old age in the first year of the Daming era of Emperor Xiaowu of the Liu Song Dynasty (457 CE). In the 13th year of the Zhenguan era of Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty (639 CE), he was posthumously conferred the title "True Person of Compassionate Beneficence and Universal Salvation" (Cihu Pujji Zhenren).
