He held the title of "Master of the Three Caves of Shangqing" (a high-ranking Taoist clergy title) and compiled three volumes of ritual protocols included in Youshang Huanglu Dazhai Licheng Yi (The Established Rituals for the Grand Yellow Registers Retreat of Youshang).
