Li Mingqi was a Taoist during the Han and Wei dynasties.
He practiced asceticism in seclusion on Mount Heng and took pills made from Alisma orientalis and cypress seeds. Daoji Lingxian Ji (Records of Taoist Traces and Spiritual Immortals) states that he received the recipe for the Rainbow Vision Divine Elixir from a true immortal.
He went to Guangzhou to seek cinnabar, practiced both external alchemy and internal cultivation, and was able to see through the five zang-organs and six fu-organs. Later, he attained the Dao and became an immortal, ascending to heaven.
