The Lin Taigu 梁签

The Lin Taigu 梁签

Paul Peng
Lin Taigu was a native of Taiyuan in Bingzhou (now part of Shanxi Province) in the early Northern Song Dynasty. His courtesy name was Xiangxian, and his Taoist title was Chunhezi.
When he grew up, he sought out teachers to learn the Dao and traveled around the Qilu region (now Shandong Province).
Emperor Taizong of the Song Dynasty summoned him and granted him a mountain residence in Jingzhao. Thus, Lin Taigu styled himself "Jingzhao Mountain Hermit". Later, he lived in seclusion in Huayang of Yizhou and also took the Taoist title "Mr. Huayang". He wrote Longhu Huandan Jue Song (Odes on the Secret of the Dragon-Tiger Returning Elixir) in one volume.
