Lin Yuan was a native of Fujian during the late Song and early Yuan dynasties. His courtesy name was Shenfeng, and his literary name was Xuanchaozi.

He wrote Gushen Pian (Essays on the Valley Spirit), which consists of two volumes. His theories inherited the teachings of the Ziyang Southern Sect (a branch of Taoism), while placing unique emphasis on the "primordial qi" (a core concept in traditional Chinese philosophy referring to the fundamental vital energy of the universe), thus forming his own distinctive academic perspective.

Ordained at 25 after a dream from the Celestial Master, he has practiced for 25 years under Master Zeng Guangliang. He is one of the curators of this store, which is officially authorized by Tianshi Fu. All items are consecrated at the temple by the resident priest team.
