The Cavern Mysterious and Numinous Treasure Scripture of the Highest Grade for Ascending to Immortality

It consists of one scroll and is included in the Original Text Category of the Cavern Mysterious Section in the Taoist Canon.
At the beginning of the scripture, it states that the Scripture of Ascending to Immortality originated from the "Sutra of the Samadhi of Boundless Divine Spells" in the heavenly realm. Its theory is roughly based on Volume 20 of The Scripture of the Divine Spells from the Cavern Abyss of the Supreme Oneness, so this scripture was probably compiled by Taoist priests between the Tang and Song dynasties.
The scripture lists fifty kinds of good deeds, such as wholeheartedly revering the Dao, helping others hold Taoist fasts, supporting Taoist priests, respecting the elderly and the young, lending money to the poor, building bridges and planting trees, and so on. It claims that those who perform these good deeds can all attain "ascension to immortality".
The Heavenly Venerable exhorts all living beings to create karmic affinities of goodness, cultivate fields of merit through good deeds, achieve meritorious virtues, attain the supreme Taoist fruit, progress from immortality to truehood, and from truehood to sainthood.
