The Liu Baiyun 刘白云

The Liu Baiyun 刘白云

Paul Peng
Liu Baiyun was a native of Jiangdu in Yangzhou during the Tang Dynasty. His family was wealthy, and he was fond of giving alms to the poor and needy.
It is said that he once met a Taoist monk named Le Zichang in the market, who taught him Taoist scriptures and gave him related books. Liu Baiyun practiced Taoism in accordance with the methods recorded in the books, and thus gained the abilities to summon and control ghosts and gods, transform all things, and command clouds and rain. Later, he attained Taoism, and his whereabouts after that were unknown.
His deeds can be found in Xianzhuan Shiyi (Supplementary Biographies of Immortals).
