Liu Benshu was a native of Hunan during the Qing Dynasty. His original name was Qiao, with the literary name Kechen and the Taoist name Youwozi.

As recorded in The Complete Works of Ancestor Lü (Lüzu Quanshu), he was enlightened by a Taoist in a dream. Later, he was officially registered as a Taoist at Hansan Palace in Wuchang. Together with Deng Youshu (styled Dongyanzi) and Liu Yuncheng (styled Qingxuzzi), he compiled The Scripture of Unity and Conformity (Can Tong Jing), expounding on the origin and context of this classic Taoist text.

Paul Peng is a Zhengyi Taoist priest from Longhu Mountain, Jiangxi — the ancestral home of the Celestial Masters' tradition. Ordained at 25 after a dream from the Celestial Master, he has practiced for 25 years under Master Zeng Guangliang. He is one of the curators of this store, which is officially authorized by Tianshi Fu. All items are consecrated at the temple by the resident priest team.
