The Liu Chongyong 柳冲用
Paul PengShare
Liu Chongyong was a figure who lived from the late Five Dynasties to the early Northern Song Dynasty.
His literary name was Xuanmingzi, and he was a Taoist priest of the Shangqing Dadong tradition (a major school of Taoism focusing on esoteric rituals and meditation).

He once met an enlightened teacher and received the transmission of essential and profound Taoist teachings. He composed ten poems titled Jusheng Ge (Odes to Giant Sunflower Seeds), which sing the praises of the subtle mysteries of lead, mercury, and the Five Elements (metal, wood, water, fire, earth) in Taoist alchemy. The language of these poems is quite cryptic.
