The Liu Huayang 柳华阳

The Liu Huayang 柳华阳

Paul Peng
Liu Huayang (1736 – ?) was a native of Hongdu (present-day Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province) in the Qing Dynasty. According to the Preface of Huiming Jing (The Scripture of Wisdom and Life), he had a passion for Buddhism since childhood and later became a Buddhist monk.

Subsequently, he met True Person Wu Chongxu and Great Master Huyun, who imparted to him the secret teachings of the Jindan Dadao (the Great Way of the Golden Elixir). Thus, he converted to Taoism and devoted himself to practicing Dan Dao (the Way of Alchemy).

He authored Jinxian Zhenglun (The Verification of the Golden Immortal) and Huiming Jing (The Scripture of Wisdom and Life), in which he expounded on the essential principles of Dan Fa (the Alchemy Method) and his own experiences in cultivation.

His Dan Fa (Alchemy Method) was inherited from Wu Shouyang, and later generations named their tradition the Wu-Liu Immortal Sect.
