Liu Sishou (1870-1937) was a native of Tian'erhe, Hanchuan, Hubei Province during the Republic of China.

Formerly named Zonghai, styled Jingyi, his Taoist name was Lishou, and his literary name was Shouyuanzi.

He studied Confucian classics in his childhood but failed the imperial examinations repeatedly. At the age of twenty, he became a Taoist priest at Longzhen Guan in Qianzhenyi, Tianmen County, studying under Xiao Gaodeng. He wandered to places such as Xuanmiao Guan in Hanyang and Xuanmiao Guan in Suzhou, visiting teachers and seeking Dao, thus making remarkable progress in his Taoist practice.

Records of Changchun Temple states that Sishou was proficient in feng shui and yin-yang techniques, and particularly well-versed in the principles of the I Ching. He once said: "Han Dynasty I Ching studies were rigidly confined to schools of thought, inevitably engaging in forced interpretations; Song Dynasty I Ching studies leaned towards abstract principles, inevitably falling into empty talk without practical use. Thus, I reconcile the I Ching studies of the Han and Song dynasties into one."

He personally explained the classics to his disciples, teaching them patiently and meticulously, attracting a large number of followers.

In the first year of the Xuantong reign (1909), he served as the abbot administrator of Xuanmiao Guan in Hanyang. In the eighth year of the Republic of China (1919), he went to Baiyun Guan in Beijing and received the great precepts from Abbot Chen. In the fourteenth year of the Republic of China (1926), he set up a precept platform at Changchun Temple to confer precepts.

Later, due to blindness in both eyes, he resided at Liming Palace in Hanzhen for recuperation.

He passed away at Changchun Temple in the twenty-fifth year of the Republic of China (1936).
